‚ÄčIntroducing 2-Step Verification

Accent Credit Union is one of the first credit unions in Saskatchewan to offer an enhanced, and better than ever security feature for our members who utilize MemberDirect and the mobile app.  This exciting new feature is called 2-Step Verification.  This important new feature ensures that you are the only one logging into your online banking.  If anything seems out of the ordinary, you'll be prompted to enter the verification code.  If you receive this code and you are not attempting to log in, someone may be attempting to login to your MemberDirect.  

What is 2-Step Verification?

An extra layer of protection to reduce fraud risks and further secure your account.  This layer of protection will ensure you're the ONLY person who can access your online banking or mobile app, even if someone knows your password.

When will this new feature go live?

Effective August 19, 2021 this new feature will roll out to Accent Credit Union members.  When you access online banking, you will be prompted to enroll.  Members will be provided a 5-day grace period to enroll by August 24, 2021.

Setting up 2-Step Verification

  1. Log-in to your online banking account
  2. Complete the Enable 2-Step Verification enrollment screen
  3. Enter your preffered email address or mobile phone number to recieve your verification code. Whenever possible, we encourage you to use a mobile phone number for the verification process.  If you opt to use an e-mail address, please ensure you check your junk mail for verification emails.  Another important consideration, is to think about which method would be most likely to alert you first, in the event a fraudster is attempting to access your online banking.  It is also important that your password for your email and online banking is not the same, to prevent a hack.
  4. Enter the verification code sent to you by SMS text message or email (this code will expire after 10 minutes)

At any point after your initial enrollment, you can edit your mobile phone number or email address used to receive the 2-Step Verification code.

If you have Touch/Face ID, QuickView enabled, or use the "Remember Me" option during log in, you will need to re-configure these settings after setting up 2-Step Verification

Web Browsers & Member Direct

Please discontinue using the Internet Explorer web browser, as it is no longer supported by Microsoft.  As a result it has reduced security features.  Supported browsers, which provide full security features include: Chrome, Safari 14 (Mac OS only), Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
